The Pharaohs may be gone and the ancient desert settlements may be quiet, but what remains to be visited and studied in this spectacular country is phenomenal.

We travel to historic Cairo, then south into Nubia to within a stone's throw of the Sudan border at Abu Simbel. Then we return to Upper Egypt and the city of Aswan where we begin our cruise down the Nile River to Luxor. The archaeological and historical antiquities are abundant.

Throughout the trip, the Mid-east culture will envelop you. The vast desert scenery will inspire you. The Nile River will calm you. The diversity is amazing.

Egypt is one of the most popular countries in Africa and it has been welcoming western visitors for centuries. The infrastructure is well-developed, the country is peaceful, the hotels are comfortable, the cruise boats are welcoming, the transportation is good and the sites are simply magnificent.

Travel with us as part of our small group as we visit the cities, villages, deserts, museums, busy markets, historic and cultural sites and more; all in comfort and safety. We travel on private mini-buses, vans, calèches, camels and our own river boat. We share stories at happy hour. We float peacefully down the Nile. We marvel at the tombs of the Pharaohs. We do many things you've never thought of.

On this journey, as on each of our journeys, one or more of our experienced staff rides along with the group to offer advice, to smooth any bumps in the road and to make sure your experience is the best it can possibly be.

Days 1-4 Arrive in Cairo and spend three days exploring the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities, Old Cairo, Islamic Cairo, the ancient Khan al Khalili Bazaar, Giza's Great Pyramids and the Sphinx and other interesting sites in this bustling city.
Days 5-8 We begin our stay in Upper Egypt by visiting the amazing site of Abu Simbel on Lake Nasser near the Sudan border. We spend our evening and overnight in Aswan. Here we view the famous high dam, the temple of Philae and the Granite Quarries. We also partake in the ultimate relaxation - sailing the Nile River in a Felucca! From here we begin our Nile Cruise and spend a few beautiful, relaxing days travelling slowly northward on the Nile River exploring the towns and temples of Kom Ombo and Edfu along the way. We end the cruise in the city of Luxor where we explore Karnak and Luxor Temple complexes and ancient Thebes, including the Valley of the Kings, the terrace temple of Hatshepsut and the Colossus of Memnon.
Days 9-10 Return to Cairo for a final happy hour, farewell dinner and overnight before catching our flight home the following morning.
