The Journey

Our 22-day journey follows an east-to-west route from Sabah and Sarawak in northern Borneo through Western Malaysia and on to Singapore.

 

You spend your first two nights in Kota Kinabalu where you can take time to adjust to the new time zone and to appreciate the beautiful beaches and islands on the South China Sea. Then fly to Lahad Datu in the eastern part of Sabah, the gateway to your excursion into the jungles of Borneo. Spend the first two nights in the primary rainforest of the Danum Valley, one of the best places for viewing Borneo's mammals and birds. Then move on to the Kinabatangan River where you'll spend two nights in the heart of Borneo's Wildlife Conservation Area enjoying the forests and its canopy. After one more night in Kota Kinabalu, move on to Kuching, the capital of Sarawak and venture deep into the rainforest to the Southeast to visit the Iban at their longhouse and to relax at the beautiful Batang Ai lodge. Then it's on to Peninsular Malaysia where you visit the vibrant city of Kuala Lumpur, the beautiful Cameron Highlands and the former Portuguese settlement of Malacca. Then cross into the amazing city-state of Singapore for the final days of the journey.

 

For those who wish to extend their time in Southeast Asia we can offer optional extra days anywhere in the area.

 

And, if the itinerary is not exactly what you need, of course we can adjust it according to your wishes. Longer? Shorter? In different places? Whatever...
