Brief Day-to-Day Itinerary

Days 1-2 Arrive in Kota Kinabalu and spend two days resting and rejuvenating on the sandy beaches along the South China Sea.
Days 3-6 Spend four nights in the rainforests of north-eastern Borneo discovering the birds, plants, reptiles, mammals and insects in the Danum Valley and along the Kinabatangan River.
Day 7-8 Spend some time learning more about Orangutans and take an hour or so to view them up-close. Take time to explore the city of Kota Kinabalu and visit a "living museum" to examine the diverse races and cultures of northern Borneo.
Day 9 On to Kuching, Malaysia's fourth-largest city and the capital of Sarawak for a two-night stay. Visit the Sarawak museum, walk through the heart of the old city among the Chinese shop-houses, take a few pictures in the local market and stroll along the riverbank.
Days 10-11 Head south-east into the thick of the rainforest to Batang Ai and spend two nights in a beautiful teakwood lodge. Take dugouts across the lake to visit an Iban family in their longhouse and examine their daily lifestyle in some detail.
Days 12-14 Visit Malaysia's vibrant capital, Kuala Lumpur, where you'll spend a morning walking through some of KL's interesting neighbourhoods, explore Chinatown, photograph the famous Petronas twin-towers and visit the world-renowned home of Royal Selangor Pewter. Spend some time strolling in exciting Bukit Bintang, KL's centre of nightlife, shopping and entertainment.
Days 15-16 A few days at the famous hill resort of Cameron Highlands, a very British enclave of small hotels, tea plantations and strawberry farms. Take time to explore some of the surrounding forests on many of the local walking or hiking trails, enjoy afternoon tea or happy hour out on the terrace or inside by the fire.
Days 17-18 Two days in the former Portuguese colony of Malacca. Enjoy long walks through the old narrow streets, drink in the colonial history and the Chinese culture and perhaps spend some relaxing time at the spa.
Day 19-21 Cross the border into Singapore and spend the rest of your time in one of the most modern, well-run, exciting and busy cities in the world with some of the best entertainment, restaurants and shopping one can imagine. Take time for a Singapore Sling at the Long Bar in Raffles Hotel, wander through the streets of Little India, try street food at Newton's Circus, visit Orchard Road for those last-minute gifts or simply relax with a good book and look down on it all.
Day 22 Depart Singapore on your flight home.
