Days 1-2 |
Arrive in Kota Kinabalu
and spend two days resting and rejuvenating on the sandy
beaches along the South China Sea. |

Days 3-6 |
Spend four
nights in the rainforests of north-eastern Borneo
discovering the birds, plants, reptiles, mammals and insects
in the Danum Valley and along the Kinabatangan
River. |

Day 7-8 |
Spend some time
learning more about Orangutans and take an
hour or so to view them up-close. Take time to explore the
city of Kota Kinabalu and visit a
"living museum" to examine the diverse races and cultures of
northern Borneo. |

Day 9 |
On to
Kuching, Malaysia's fourth-largest city and the capital
of Sarawak for a two-night stay. Visit the Sarawak
museum, walk through the heart of the old city among the
Chinese shop-houses, take a few pictures in the local market
and stroll along the riverbank. |

Days 10-11 |
Head south-east
into the thick of the rainforest to Batang Ai and spend two nights in a beautiful teakwood lodge.
Take dugouts across the lake to visit an Iban
family in their longhouse and examine their daily
lifestyle in some detail. |

Days 12-14 |
Visit
Malaysia's vibrant capital, Kuala Lumpur, where
you'll
spend a morning walking through some of KL's interesting
neighbourhoods, explore Chinatown, photograph the famous
Petronas twin-towers and visit the world-renowned home of
Royal Selangor Pewter. Spend some time strolling in exciting
Bukit Bintang, KL's centre of nightlife, shopping and
entertainment. |

Days 15-16 |
A few days at
the famous hill resort of Cameron Highlands, a very
British enclave of small hotels, tea plantations and
strawberry farms. Take time to explore some of the
surrounding forests on many of the local walking or hiking
trails, enjoy afternoon tea or happy hour out on the terrace
or inside by the fire. |

Days 17-18 |
Two days in the
former Portuguese colony of Malacca. Enjoy long walks
through the old narrow streets, drink in the colonial
history and the Chinese culture and perhaps spend some
relaxing time at the spa. |

Day 19-21 |
Cross the
border into Singapore and spend the rest of your time
in one of the most modern, well-run, exciting and busy
cities in the world with some of the best entertainment,
restaurants and shopping one can imagine. Take time for a
Singapore Sling at the Long Bar in Raffles Hotel, wander
through the streets of Little India, try street food at
Newton's Circus, visit Orchard Road for those last-minute
gifts or simply relax with a good book and look down on it
all. |

Day 22 |
Depart
Singapore on your flight home. |
