Southeast Asia is a fascinating destination especially for those of us who live in North America. Every day you will experience things you never dreamed of. At the same time, Asia can present a few challenges when it comes to getting things done on your own. Consequently, we take this into account when planning your custom-designed itinerary.

We will work closely with you to ensure that only those items you require are included in the itinerary.

We generally recommend that you pre-pay certain meals, all local transportation, all hotels, all guides and drivers and driver's helpers, internal air flights and site admission fees along the way. This approach gives you a more carefree experience and reduces the hassle factor considerably.

Meals

Breakfasts: We always recommend that all breakfasts be included in your trip cost.

Most mornings you will wake up to a feast including breads, rolls, croissants, pastries, yogurt, tropical fruits, cereals, omelettes, eggs, cheeses, meats, and Asian dishes including congee, roasted fish and vegetables of every kind. Add to this some of the best fruit juices anywhere and flavourful coffees and teas. On many days, breakfast will carry you through lunchtime and up to dinnertime, thereby allowing you to save on lunch costs.

Selected Lunches and Dinners: Whenever it is more convenient to eat lunch or dinner along the way we tend to recommend this, but in general we prefer to allow you to make your own choices with respect to the excellent restaurants available en-route.

Transportation

We generally include all transportation whenever you move from one place to another. This may include comfortable minibus, vans, riverboats, wooden dugouts and more.

We also include all domestic or local air flights during your trip. For example, on the Malaysia itinerary the following flights would be included: Kota Kinabalu - Lahad Datu return, Sandakan - Kota Kinabalu, Kota Kinabalu - Kuching, and Kuching - Kuala Lumpur.

Transfers

We generally include all transfers – arrival transfers from the airport to your hotel, transfers between all other airports and hotels along the way and final departure transfers from hotel to airport. However, we will work with you to decide whether this is to your advantage or not.

Separate Guides and Drivers in all locations

Our guides and drivers are chosen from among the best.

Hotel Accommodation in all locations

We generally include all hotels, lodges and resorts along the way. For the accommodation that we recommend for our pre-planned Malaysia journey, click Our Hotels. If you want less comfortable or more comfortable hotels, we will work with you to get you exactly what you need.

Entrance fees, park fees, pass fees, boat fees and other related fees for all sites included in your tour

We recommend that all these fees are included.

What's not included?

We do not generally include the following specific items in the price of a custom-designed land tour.

• International airfare between Canada and Asia. We are experts in international airfares and can help you decide which routing and airline would be best for you.

• Travel Insurance premium

• Visit to Travel Medicine clinic and any vaccines or tablets

As on any trip, you will of course be expected to pay for your own personal expenses such as tips, drinks, any extra meals not mentioned in the itinerary, laundry, personal local transportation during your free times and any other items of a personal nature.
