Introduction

Leaving the familiar world behind and spending a few weeks in a totally new place like Peru  is a rejuvenating and rewarding experience. Unique cultures, historic sights, local ambiance, unfamiliar surroundings and interesting people all make you feel more alive. Add comfortable accommodation, good travelling companions, delicious food and a picture around every corner and you’ve created a great journey!

Travel with us as part of our small-group of guests as we explore the highlights of the amazing country of Peru including exciting cities, local villages, busy markets, historic & cultural sites and more, all in comfort and safety. We visit with local people and experience their lifestyles. We examine interesting pre-columbian and paleolithic sites, we cross mountain passes at up to 5000 metres and we visit thermal springs and the world's deepest canyon.

We travel in our own private comfortable mini-buses, on the vista-dome train, on modern aircraft and on foot. We converse in Spanish, in Quichua and by hand gestures.  We sample the local delicacies from north to south. We share stories at happy hour. We watch the sun set over the second-highest mountain range on earth. We do hundreds of things you've never even thought of.

On each of our journeys one of our own staff rides along with the group to offer advice, to smooth any bumps in the road and to make sure your experience is the best it can be. South America has been a part of us for many years and we can never get enough of it.

The Journey

For the 12-day trip we will visit the cities of Lima, Cuzco and Arequipa as well as the market towns of Ollantaytambo and Pisaq, the town of Chivay and the nearby Colca Canyon and, of course, the majestic site of Machu Picchu.

We arrive and depart from the city of Lima. Since we only spend a full day there, guests may wish to either arrive early or extend their stay in order to explore Lima in greater depth. We can make that happen.
