Introduction

Leaving the familiar world behind and spending a few weeks in a totally new place like South Africa and Namibia is a rejuvenating and rewarding experience. Unique cultures, historic sights, wild animals, local music, unfamiliar surroundings and interesting people all make you feel more alive. Add comfortable accommodation, good travelling companions, delicious food and a picture around every corner and you’ve created the trip of a lifetime!

Travel with us through Southern Africa as part of our small group as we wander through exciting cities, local villages, busy markets, game parks, historic and cultural sites and more -- all in comfort and safety. We observe some of the most interesting wildlife you could imagine - from penguins to giraffe - from ostrich to lion. We sample some of the finest wines on the planet. We visit sandy beaches, national parks and deserts. We travel in our own private comfortable mini-buses, in boats, on trains, on cable cars, on modern aircraft and on foot. We share stories at happy hour. We enjoy 'sundowners' while watching the sun set over watering holes teeming with wildlife. We do hundreds of interesting things.

On our journey, one or more of our own staff rides along with the group to offer advice, to smooth any bumps in the road and to make sure your experience is the best it can be. Southern Africa has been a part of us for several years and we can never get enough of it.

The Journey

We start in the modern South African city of Cape Town. From here we move on through the Winelands to Paarl, Franschhoek and Stellenbosch, along the Garden Route, through the Klein Karoo and on to the magnificent Kruger National Park. This takes us to about half-way through the journey, then we carry on to Namibia where we visit the capital of Windhoek, take an overnight journey on the magnificent Desert Express train to Swakopmund, then head for Damaraland and finally on to Etosha National Park before returning to Windhoek for our final departure.

The entire journey, from Cape Town through to Johannesburg offers the following...
