South Africa and Namibia             23-days

Incredible animals, beautiful national parks, superior wines, flavourful food, superb hotels and lodges, gentle people and the captivating sites and sands of the desert combine to make this a truly exceptional journey.

While we concentrate on wildlife for much of the journey, we also take time to experience the winelands, to absorb the scenery and to try one of the finest trains on the planet, the Desert Express. Brief Day-to-Day Itinerary
 

Day 1 Arrive in Cape Town.
Days 2-4 Cape Town city tour, Table Mountain and Botanical Gardens, Cape Peninsula, Simonstown, Boulders Beach, Khaylitsha Township and Robben Island.
Days 5-6 Visit the Winelands including Stellenbosch, Paarl, Franschhoek and other villages. Sample wines and enjoy great food.
Days 7-8 Exploration of the Garden Route through the Klein Karoo with its mountain passes and picturesque villages. Visit an ostrich farm, explore white sandy beaches, visit Plettenberg & Tsitsikamma and spend time in the Nature reserve and Primate Sanctuary.
Days 9-12 Four spectacular days in the Manyeleti and Timbavati Game Reserves next to Kruger National Park in the heart of "Big Five" country. Game drives, a tented camp, thatched chalets, superb views, incredible wildlife and drinks around the boma!
Day 13 Leave Kruger, transfer through Johannesburg and on to Windhoek.
Days 14-15 Board the Desert Express for an overnight journey from Windhoek to Swakopmund through the desert. Private compartments, a beautiful lounge and dining car make this one of the finest trains on earth.
Days 16-17 On the first step of our journey to the Etosha area we stop in Damaraland for two nights and enjoy the breathtaking desert scenery of this beautiful region.
Days 18-21 Four full days in Etosha Park. Here we can experience a superb variety of wildlife activities including relaxed safaris, nature walks, hiking, night drives, bird watching and much more.
Days 22-23 One final day spent in Windhoek prior to our departure for home.
