What do we include in the tour price?
Southern Africa is
a fascinating destination especially for those of us who live in
North America. At the same time, Africa can present a few challenges
when it comes to getting things done on your own. Consequently, we
take this into account when planning what to include.
For this
journey, from the time of arrival in Cape Town to the time of
departure from Windhoek, we include all breakfasts and many lunches
and dinners, all transportation, all hotels
and lodges, all guides, naturalists and drivers, all group
luggage-handlers fees, all site admission
fees, tour manager assistance and a few "surprises" along the way.
This approach gives our guests a more 'carefree' experience and
reduces the 'hassle' factor considerably.
Meals
Breakfasts:
At most of our hotels
you will wake up to a feast including breads, rolls, croissants, pastries,
yogurt, tropical fruits, cereals, eggs, cheeses, meats, and local dishes.
Add to this some of the best fruit juices anywhere! On many days, breakfast
will carry you through lunchtime and up to dinnertime.
Selected Lunches and
Dinners:
Whenever it is more convenient to eat lunch as a group we will do
so. Usually this happens during an especially full day of
sightseeing or where it would be difficult to find an acceptable
restaurant. Dinners are
included if we think that you would especially enjoy a specific
restaurant, usually one of our favourites, or in locations where you
may not yet be familiar with the culture and/or layout of the city
or town.
Included meals
(all breakfasts, 9 lunches and 14 dinners) are shown on the detailed itineraries.
Transportation
All land
transportation
such as minibus transport, vans, boats and safari vehicles are
included in the tour price.
The cost of the
tour does not include the international air ticket.
As well, it does
not specifically include internal flights within South Africa and
Namibia however these are generally included with your international
air ticket since the costs of these internal flights if purchased
separately would be significantly higher. Please see our

pricing page for further details.
Transfers
Unlike many other companies,
we include all transfers – arrival transfers from the airport to your hotel,
transfers between all other airports and hotels along the way and final
departure transfers from hotel to airport.

These are the
people upon whom we depend to make our journey interesting and
worthwhile.

Entrance fees,

included in your tour.

Documentation and Support
We include a
comprehensive Trip Planning Guide which is distributed about three months
prior to departure including instructions on all aspects of preparing for
your journey. Just prior to departure we provide detailed instructions for
your arrival in Cape Town, a comprehensive packing list and more.
Plus we include the full
support of the TrailFinders' Tour Leader along the
way.
Pre-Paid Tips
Tips to guides,
drivers, naturalists and luggage handlers are administered by your tour
leader during the
journey on behalf of all guests, thereby freeing them from the hassles of
finding the appropriate and exact funds for specific items on demand. The
full tip
amounts are collected from our guests at time of booking and while the
amounts are not technically "included in the tour price" they are collected
ahead of time to avoid inconveniencing our guests along the way.
What's not included?
We do not include the
following specific items in the price of our land tour.
We are experts in international
airfares and can help you decide which routing and airline would be best
for you. Please see the recommended air routing on the

of this website. We suggest that you

As on any trip you will of
course be
expected to pay for your own personal expenses such as drinks, any extra
meals not mentioned in the itinerary, laundry, occasional personal tips to waiters
or bellhops and any
other items of a personal nature.
