PRICE AND DISCOUNTS
Why do we show our tour price in US Dollars?
Our suppliers in Asia price all of their products and services in US dollars for
consistency.
Therefore, we have to pay them in US dollars.
To avoid having to re-price our
journeys every day because of currency exchange rate fluctuations, we simply show the actual price
in US funds.
We therefore ask our Private Journey guests to pay us directly in US dollars by bank
draft or bank transfer.

What's Included?
Just about everything!
Some parts of Sri Lanka can present a few challenges when it comes to
getting things done and keeping safe while other places are easily and safely explored, so we take
this into account when planning what to include along the way.
We include all meals during the
tour, all transportation, all transfers, all hotels, all guides and drivers and driver's helpers,
all group luggage-handlers' fees, all group activities, all site admission fees and the assistance
of our own staff along the way. This approach gives our guests a carefree experience and reduces the
hassle factor considerably.
Meals
Breakfasts: All breakfasts are included. At most of our hotels you will wake up to a
feast including breads, rolls, croissants, pastries, yogurt, tropical fruits, cereals, omelettes,
eggs, cheeses, meats, and local Sri Lankan dishes.
Lunches and Dinners: All lunches and dinners are included. There will be a
selection of Sri Lankan and Western meals throughout the trip, with an emphasis on Sri Lankan. Some
restaurants will be simple and some will be very nice indeed!
Transportation
We include all transportation whenever the group moves from one place to another. This includes our comfortable and private minibuses, tuk tuks, safari jeeps and more.
Transfers
Unlike many other travel companies, we include all transfers: arrival transfers from the Colombo airport to the hotel and final departure transfers from Colombo to the airport on the last day of your trip regardless of your arrival and departure dates and times.
Private Guides and Drivers
In all locations we will be accompanied by a professional local guide and drivers.
Hotel accommodation in all locations
We include a wonderful and varied selection of hotels and resorts along the way. To see details of our hotels, click "Our Hotels" on the Trip Details page.
Entrance fees, park fees and other fees for all sites included in the tour.
This tour includes a significant number of historical, cultural and religious sites, each of which
charges for admission. These costs are included in the tour price.
If you were to travel through this region on your own, you would be paying significant amounts for
each of these items, separately on the spot, every day.
TrailFinders Documentation
We include a comprehensive Trip Planning Guide which is distributed about three
months prior to departure.
We also provide a pre-departure package containing detailed instructions for your arrival, a
comprehensive packing list and more.
Plus we include the full support of the TrailFinders' Tour Leader and a few surprises along the way.
Pre-Paid Extras
The payment of group tips is administered by TrailFinders staff during the journey on behalf of our guests, thereby freeing them from the hassles of reaching in their pocket every few hours to tip guides, drivers, assistants, facilitators, hotel staff, baggage handlers, waiters and so on. The tip amounts are collected from our guests at time of booking and while they are not technically "included in the tour price" they are collected ahead of time to avoid inconveniencing our guests along the way.
What's not included?
We do not include the following specific items in the price of our land tour.
- International air between Canada and Asia. (See notes below)
- Visa for Sri Lanka (please click "Summary of Extra Costs" link below for explanation)
- Travel Insurance
- Any required travel related vaccines or tablets
- Personal expenses such as special drinks, laundry, souvenirs and so on.

International Air Recommendations
We are well aware of all airlines and all routings between Canada and Asia and are available to
assist you in determining your best option in economy, premium economy or business class. Even if
you are planning to book your own air tickets, please speak with us first and we
can outline your options.
For those of you who are planning to use Aeroplan points to book air seats, we recommend that you do
this well in advance. Points seats are limited on each aircraft and they go fast, especially in
Business Class and especially across the Pacific. Again, please speak with us first.
We are always available to arrange your international air tickets according to your preferences and
to watch current bookings at all times especially if airline schedule changes take place.
